HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2020-016 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2020-016 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING R EQUEST FOR P AYMENT N O. 4 AND F INAL C ENTRAL W ATER T OWER R EHABILITATION (WA190001) WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth as the owner, and Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. as the contractor, have entered into an agreement for the rehabilitation of the Central Water Tower, and said agreement was approved by the City Council on January 22, 2019; and WHEREAS, the City Council established and approved a budget of $1,380,000.00 from the Water Fund for this project on January 22, 2019; and WHEREAS, the Engineer has certified acceptance of the work and approval of the final request for payment. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. That the original contract amount is $1,184,500.00 and Change Order 1 is $16,730.00 and Change Order 2 is $14,000.00, and that the value of the work to date of $1,215,230.00 is approved. The final contract amount is $30,730.00 above the original contract amount. 2. That the work performed by the contractor for the Central Water Tower Rehabilitation and certified to the City Council by the engineer as acceptable, being the same, is released from the contract except as to the conditions of the performance bond, any and all legal rights of the owner, required guarantees and correction of faulty work after final payment. 3. Request for Payment No. 4 and Final in the amount of $60,761.50 to Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. for the Central Water Tower Rehabilitation is approved and the Finance Manager is authorized and directed to pay the same forthwith. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the total project costs shall include construction of the improvements in the amount of $1,215,230.00, and engineering and administration in the amount of $124,770.00 for a total project cost of $1,340,000.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that funding for this project will be from the Water Fund in the amount of $1,340,000.00. APPROVED by the City Council on this 14th day of January, 2020.
