R ESOLUTION A PPROVING H ENNEPIN C OUNTY C ONSTRUCTION C OST S HARING
A GREEMENT FOR T RAIL ALONG C OUNTY R OAD 101
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has requested Hennepin County’s participation in the cost of
construction of a trail through the Hennepin County Pedestrian and Bicycle Capital Improvement Fund;
and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County capital funds are designated for projects that eliminate gaps in the
Hennepin County Transportation System Plan; and
WHEREAS, the County has awarded grant funding from the Pedestrian and Bicycle Capital
Improvement Fund to the City of Plymouth for a new trail; and
WHEREAS, the new trail will be along the east side of County Road 101 from Alvarado Lane
(future road) to 54th Avenue North; and
WHEREAS, the City or its agents will prepare preliminary and final plans and specifications for
construction of the trails; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the trail construction is $277,254.50 and will be funded by
contributions of $75,000 from the 2019 Hennepin County Sidewalk and Bicycle Capital Improvement
Program and $75,000 from the 2020 Hennepin County Sidewalk and Bicycle Capital Improvement
Program and $127,254.50 in 2021 using Park Dedication Funds; and
WHEREAS, upon completion of the project, the City shall notify the County and submit an
invoice for reimbursement of the total contribution of $150,000, reducing the overall project costs to
$127,254.50.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the Hennepin County Construction Cost Sharing Agreement is approved and the
Mayor and City Manager are directed to execute the agreement.
