HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1972-162x 1, PILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regula- meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the first day of May, 1972. The following members were present: Mayor Hild_e, Councilmen Hunt, Spaeth, Seibold and Nei .s. The following members were absent: None. Councilman Spaeth introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 72-162 WHEREAS, the residents of 28th Avenue from West Medicine Lake Drive to Evergreen Lane and on Evergreen Lane north and south of 28th Avenue have asked for changes in the scope of their street construction as follows: (1) redaction of street strength, (2) reduction of street width, (3) elimination of concrete curb and gutter and replacement with blacktop curb and gutter and (4) the addition of paving on the 28th Avenue extension access to the lake, and WHEREAS, the Village staff has recommended the following actions con- cerning the above items: (1) that street designed strength not be reduced, (2) that the street width not be reduced, (3) that the concrete curb and gutter be eliminated and replaced with blacktop curbs in the area east of West Medicine Lake Drive because of the anticipated settlement of the street in some areas due to poor soil conditions, and (4) that the access to the lake be paved as requested by the petitioners, Mr. and Mrs. David Felder, and WHEREAS, the Council requested additional reports concerning the access to include recommendations and legalities that we would have to go through to vacate or improve this access, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH: 1. The street design strength should not be reduced. 2. The design street width should not be reduced. 3. The concrete curb and gutter should be replaced with blacktop curb and gutter. 4. The staff will report back to the Council concerning the lake access with the staff's recommendations and information on the legalities of improving the right of way or vacating this access. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Neils. and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hilde, Coun- cilman Hunt, Spaeth, Seibold and Neils.
