HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 10-23-2018Adopted Minutes Regular City Council Meeting October 23, 2018 Mayor Slavik called a Regular Meeting of the Plymouth City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on October 23, 2018. COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Slavik, Councilmembers Carroll, Johnson, Wosje, Davis, Prom. COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmember Willis. STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Callister, Administrative Services Director Hokkanen, Public Safety Director Goldstein, Parks and Recreation Director Evans, Cormnunity Development Director Juetten, Public Works Director Thompson, Recreation Supervisor Koch, Communications Manager LaFave, Communications Coordinator Rosemeyer, and City Clerk Engdahl. Plymouth Forum Brian Crossland, 17794 51 st Ave, presented data on the number of traffic accidents occurring over the past three years at the Peony Lane and Schmidt Lake Road intersection. He requested the City review this intersection and provide options to reduce the number accidents. Mayor Slavik explained that the City is aware of this issue and is working to resolve it. She reported that a meeting between the City and school officials will occur on October 29. Irene Fernando introduced herself and noted she is a candidate for Hennepin County Commissioner District 2. Presentations and Public Information Announcements (4.01) Introduction of International Students from Minnesota State University Mankato Administrative Services Volunteer Intern Ryan Callister introduced international students from Minnesota State University Mankato who visited City departments. (4.02) Announcement of Halloween at the Creek on October 26 Recreation Supervisor Koch announced the annual Halloween at the Creek event on October 26 at the Plymouth Creek Center. Adopted Minutes Page 1 of 3 Regular Meeting of October 23, 2018 Mayor Slavik also announced the Fire Department's "Truck or Treat" at each of the fire stations from on October 30. (4.03) Presentation of Photo Contest Winners Communications Manager LaFave and Communications Coordinator Rosemeyer announced this year's annual photo contest winners. Approval of Agenda Motion was made by Councilmember Wosje, and seconded by Councilmember Davis, to approve the agenda. With all members voting in favor, the motion carried. Consent Agenda Motion was made by Councilmember Prom, and seconded by Councilmember Davis, to adopt the Consent Agenda that included the followingi: (6.01) Council Meeting minutes from Special and Regular Minutes of October 9, 2018. (6.02) Resolution Approving Disbursements ending October 13, 2018 (Res2018-338). (6.03) Resolution Accepting Final Release of Financial Guarantee Hampton Hills 3rd Addition (2011002F - Res2018-339), Resolution Accepting Final Release of Financial Guarantee Hampton Hills 4th Addition (2012005 - Res2018-340), Resolution Accepting Final Release of Financial Guarantee Hampton Hills 5th Addition (2012102 - Res2018-341), and Resolution Accepting Final Release of Financial Guarantee Hampton Hills South Plateau Addition (2011097F - Res018-342). (6.04) Resolution Approving Payment No. 3 and Final for 2018 Street Sweeping Program (18013 - Res2018-337). (6.05) Resolution Approving Change Order No. 1 For 2019 Pedestrian Ramp and Concrete Replacement Project (STI 99004.001 - Res2018-343). (6.06) Resolution Approving Tobacco License Application for Hy -Vee Wine & Spirits, 16605 County Road 24, 01 (Res2018-344). With all members voting in favor, the motion carried.
