R ESOLUTION N O. 2018-322
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE P URCHASE OF R EMOTE S PEAKER M ICROPHONES
WHEREAS, the Fire Department currently has 58 portable radios in service, and all of these
radios are equipped with a remote speaker microphone; and
WHEREAS, versions more commonly used by fire services have three or five microphones; and
WHEREAS, the incapability between the one microphone system and the advancements in the
new SCBA is making communication between firefighters that are wearing SCBA and incident command
very difficult; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending the purchase of 58 remote speaker microphones from Ancom
Communications in the amount of $23,925.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the purchase of 58 remote speaker microphones from Ancom Communications in the
amount of $23,925 is approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funding will come from the Resource Allocation Account.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 25th day of September, 2018.
