City Council Special Meeting
September 11, 2018
Deputy Mayor Prom called a Special Meeting of the Plymouth City Council to order at 5:30 p.m.
in the Medicine Lake Room of City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on September 11, 2018.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Deputy Mayor Prom, Councilmembers Wosje, Willis, Davis, Johnson,
and Carroll. Mayor Slavik arrived at 5:40 p.m.
ABSENT: None.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Callister, Administrative Services Director Hokkanen, Public
Works Director Thompson, Economic Development Manager Landhauser, Fire Chief Coppa,
Community Development Director Juetten, Public Safety Director Goldstein, Parks and Forestry
Manager Brunelle, and City Clerk Engdahl.
TwinWest Update
Shannon Full, President and CEO of TwinWest Chamber of Commerce, provided an update on
current endeavors and initiatives being undertaken by TwinWest.
Ramada Redevelopment
The developers who were interested in redeveloping the Ramada area provided an update to the
Council as to their decision to not pursue redevelopment of this site at this time.
Business Outreach Policy
Staff presented a Business Outreach Policy for Council consideration. The proposed policy
outlined a recommend approach for Council's participation/involvement in visits with businesses
that include ribbon cuttings, tours, visits, etc. The majority of the Council stated they didn't
support the proposed policy, but rather would continue with their current approach with
businesses in handling the outreach on a case-by-case basis.
Future Study Sessions
No study sessions were scheduled.
