R ESOLUTION N O. 2018-284
R ESOLUTION A WARDING THE C ONTRACT AND
A PPROVE C OOPERATE A GREEMENT WITH H ENNEPIN C OUNTY FOR THE
CSAH 6 R ETAINING W ALLS (ST179003.001)
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the CSAH 6 Retaining Walls Project, bids
were received, opened and tabulated according to State law, and the following bids were received
complying with the advertisement:
Contractor Total Base Bid
Blackstone Contractors, LLC $249,199.00
Sunram Construction, Inc. $273,588.00
JL Theis, Inc. $341,070.65
Engineers Estimate $259,752.00
WHEREAS, it appears that Blackstone Contractors, LLC. is the lowest responsible bidder,
complying with the minimum qualifications; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the project to Blackstone Contractors, LLC.;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth and Hennepin County wish to jointly proceed with the project
and the City desires to enter into Hennepin County Agreement No. PW 19-17-18.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the Mayor and City Manager are authorized and directed to enter into the contract
for the bid with Blackstone Contractors, LLC. from Loretto, Minnesota in the name of the City of
Plymouth for the CSAH 6 Retaining Walls Project according to the plans and specifications therefore
approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer in the amount of $249,199.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funding for this project shall be from Hennepin County in the
amount of $286,578.85.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Agreement No. PW 19-17-18 with Hennepin County is approved
and the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to execute the Agreement and any Amendments to the
Agreement.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 28th day of August, 2018.
