R ESOLUTION N O. 2018-197
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE P URCHASE OF A N EW
W HEEL L OADER AND P LOW (CE-18-0203)
WHEREAS, the approved 2018-2022 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) identifies funding from
Central Equipment budget for a replacement wheel loader; and
WHEREAS, the existing wheel loader (#203) will be repurposed to a backup plowing unit
and inherit the designation of being the wheel loader used in the wood pile during the summer
and salt shed in the winter.
WHEREAS, the current wheel loader that was used for those purposes is 23 years old
and has remained in the fleet as a carryover for the past four years and will be traded in to
offset the cost of the new wheel loader; and
WHEREAS, RDO Equipment Co. has a contract with the state (#134463 L331-5) for a
wheel loader and attachments that meets the City’s specifications.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the purchase of one current model wheel loader and attachments from RDO
Equipment Co. is approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Wheel Loader with attachments from RDO is a net cost of
$189,453 reflecting a purchase price of $218,953 and a trade-in value for the City’s 1995 624G John
Deere Loader of $29,500. No sales tax will be due.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, funding shall be from the Central Equipment Budget (600-70-760-
76001-8100.500) for a sum of $189,453.
