R ESOLUTION A PPROVING A S ITE P LAN A MENDMENT FOR P ARKING L OT L IGHTING FOR
E AST M EDICINE L AKE P ARK LOCATED
AT 1740 M EDICINE L AKE B OULEVARD E AST (2018028)
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth, has requested approval of a site plan amendment to allow the
installation of parking lot lighting for East Medicine Lake Park on the property presently legally described
as:
East Medicine Lake Park:
Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, Block 2 Inglebrae Subdivision, according to the recorded plat thereof,
Hennepin County, Minnesota, and;
Beginning at a point in the center line of South Shore Drive a distance of 50 feet northeasterly
along said center line from a point drawn at right angles to said center line from the southwest corner of
RLS number 942 thence southeasterly to the northwesterly line of said registered land survey along a line
if extended would intersect the northeast corner of RLS number 1236 thence northeasterly along the
northwesterly line of RLS number 942 to the south line of Inglebrae, thence westerly along said south line
to the Shore of Medicine Lake thence southwesterly along said shore line to the most northerly corner of

East Medicine Lake 2 Addition thence southeasterly along the northeasterly line of said addition to
center line of South Shore Drive thence southwesterly along said center line to the beginning of the
existing roads, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called public meeting
and recommends approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and does approve the request for a site plan amendment for installation of
parking lot lighting for property located at 1740 Medicine Lake Boulevard East, subject to the following
conditions:
1. A site plan amendment is approved to allow the installation of three light poles and fixtures
in the existing parking lot, in accordance with the plans received by the City on April 2, 2018,
except as amended by this resolution.
2. A separate electrical permit is required prior to commencement of the project.
3. Pursuant to section 21105 of the zoning ordinance, all new luminaires shall be equipped
with LED dimming drivers and the electrical contractor shall provide dimming control to
reduce the lighting level by 50 percent by the later of 10:00 PM or close of business.
4. Pursuant to section 21105 of the zoning ordinance, all new luminaires within 300 feet of
residential property and mounted at a height of greater than 12 feet shall be equipped with
house side shielding.

5. Standard Conditions:
a. Compliance with the City’s lighting regulations.
b. All signage shall comply with section 21155 of the zoning ordinance and shall receive
sign permits if required.
c. Any subsequent phases or expansions are subject to required reviews and approvals per
ordinance provisions.
d. The site plan amendment shall expire one year after the date of approval, unless the
property owner or applicant has started the project, or unless the applicant, with the
consent of the property owner, has received prior approval from the City to extend the
expiration date for up to one additional year, as regulated under section 21045.09 of
the zoning ordinance.
