HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2018-173 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2018-173 R ESOLUTION R ECEIVING P RELIMINARY E NGINEERING R EPORT, O RDERING P REPARATION OF P LANS AND S PECIFICATIONS, AND C ALLING FOR A P UBLIC H EARING FOR THE F ERNBROOK L ANE M ILL AND O VERLAY AND S CHMIDT L AKE R OAD AT I-494 E XPANSION P ROJECTS C ITY P ROJECT N OS. ST189002.001 AND ST180003 WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted May 8, 2018, a report has been prepared with reference to the recommended project area including Fernbrook Lane from 34th Avenue to Schmidt Lake Road and Schmidt Lake Road from Fernbrook Lane to CSAH 61, and WHEREAS, the proposed improvement includes the mill and overlay of streets, reconstruction of streets, bituminous trail, traffic signal modifications, concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, water main repairs, sewer repairs, and all necessary appurtenances; and WHEREAS, said report is being received by the Council on May 8, 2018; and WHEREAS, the report provides information regarding whether the proposed project is necessary, cost effective, and feasible; whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement; the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended; and a description of the methodology used to calculate individual assessments for affected parcels. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The Council will consider the improvement of such streets in accordance with the report and the assessment of abutting and adjacent property within the designated Fernbrook Lane Mill and Overlay and Schmidt Lake Road at I-494 Expansion Projects, City Project Nos. ST189002.001 and ST180003, for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 429.011 to 429.111 (Laws 1953, Chapter 398, as amended) at an estimated total cost of the improvement of $2,455,534.38. 2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvement on the 26th day of June, 2018, in the Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard at 7:00 p.m., and the Clerk shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and improvements as required by law. 3. The Plymouth Engineering Department and its consultant is designated as engineer for the improvement. They shall prepare plans and specifications for the making of such improvement. APPROVED by the City Council on this 8th day of May, 2018.
