Our speakers served as members of the 2016-17 Citizens League Task Force to look at the Council’s
performance against its goals and to discuss some of the changes that have been suggested to
preserve the Council’s regional effectiveness. Their report can be found at

The League of Women Voters Inter-League Organization (Council of Metropolitan Area Leagues)
follows the issues and concerns of the metropolitan area. CMAL supports the Metropolitan council
as the decision-making body for metropolitan needs in accordance with efficiency and economy,
equitable financing, citizen control and responsiveness to the electorate.

RE: Proposed 2018 Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority Activities
Dear Mayor Slavik:
The Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HCHRA) was created under
Minnesota Statute 3836.77 in 1987. The HCHRA has all the powers granted by the statewide
HRA Act" (MS 469.001 to 469.047).
MS 383B.77 requires the HCHRA to notify municipal authorities by January 31 of each year as
to the activities the HCHRA may administer/facilitate within communities during the upcoming
year. Communities may opt out of one or more HCHRA activities by notifying the HCHRA in
writing to that effect within 45 days of the date of this notice.
Using a mix of federal, state, local, and private funding sources, the HCHRA has identified the
following activities for program year 2018:

for low-and moderate-income disabled homeowners.
Affordable Housing Provides capital funding to assist in the development of Spencer Agnew
Incentive Fund Program long-term affordable housing units. Projects are selected (612-348-2205)

Plymouth, Minn. – The City of Plymouth will hold a wedding open house 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22
at the Plymouth Creek Center, 14800 34th Ave. N.
A great way to begin the wedding planning process, brides and grooms are welcome to stop by the free
event. Guests may gather ideas, engage with vendors, taste catering samples and more.
