RESOLUTION APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE
CITY OF BLOOMINGTON FOR THE 2018 SUPER BOWL RELATED ACTIVITIES
WHEREAS, the 2018 National Football League's Super Bowl will be held in the City of
Minneapolis on February 4, 2018; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the Super Bowl, other related activities will occur in the City of
Bloomington from January 26, 2018 through February 5, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bloomington is procuring additional law enforcement personnel as a
necessity to provide public safety and security measures required for such a large and unique event; and
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Police Department has the ability to provide police officers, who are
scheduled off duty, to assist with these events; and
WHEREAS, approval of a Joint Powers Agreement between the cities of Bloomington and
Plymouth is required in order to utilize Plymouth police officers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BYTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the Joint Powers Agreement between the cities of Bloomington and Plymouth for the
2018 Super Bowl and related activities is approved and the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to
sign said agreement.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 9th day of January, 2018.
