MEMBERS PRESENT: Vice Chair Jim Kovach, Commissioners Bryan Oakley, Donovan Saba,
Julie Witt, David Witte and Kira Vanderlan
MEMBERS ABSENT: Chair Marc Anderson
STAFF PRESENT: Planner Kip Berglund
OTHERS PRESENT:

3. PUBLIC FORUM
Nathan Yueh, 2735 Hemlock Lane, asked if the City is working on any environmental initiatives
toward sustainable energy sources and efforts to fight climate change.
Planner Berglund responded that the City of Plymouth has a number of environmental policies in
the zoning ordinance and city code. He stated he was not aware of any current environmental
initiatives being worked on, but suggested if Mr. Yueh had any specific ideas he would like to
discuss, staff would certainly be willing to listen. He added if Mr. Yueh provided his contact
information, he could talk with other staff about what initiatives might be out there.
Mr. Yueh responded that he did not have any specific ideas at this time.
Commissioner Oakley noted that the City has an Environmental Quality Committee.
4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION by Commissioner Oakley, seconded by Commissioner Vanderlan, to approve the
August 16, 2017 Planning Commission Agenda. Vote. 6 Ayes. MOTION approved.

Approve a variance to front yard setback for property located at 9920 South Shore Drive.
MOTION by Commissioner Witte, seconded by Commissioner Saba, to approve the consent
agenda. Vote. 6 Ayes. MOTION approved.
