C ITY OF P LYMOUTH
R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-274
R ESOLUTION A UTHORIZING R EQUEST FOR P ROPOSALS FOR
C ATERING S ERVICES AT THE P LYMOUTH C REEK C ENTER
WHEREAS, the current catering contracts with Roasted Pear, Lancer Catering, Mintahoe
Hospitality and Medina Entertainment at the Plymouth Creek Center will expire December 31, 2019; and
WHEREAS, staff is satisfied with the four current exclusive caterers, but feels it is a good
time to solicit the market and review possible catering companies; and
WHEREAS, initiating a Request for Proposals (RFP) process will allow staff to test the market and
ensure the best possible service, pricing, diversity and menu options for customers; and
WHEREAS, interested caterers will complete an application and interview process resulting in the
top candidates completing a taste test; and
WHEREAS, staff will recommend the top three or four caterers to be the exclusive caterers at the
Plymouth Creek Center; and
WHEREAS, staff will need to have new and updated catering information published for the public
no later than June 1, 2018; and
WHEREAS, new catering contracts will cover events that occur January 1, 2020 to December 31,
2024;
WHEREAS, staff estimates new catering contracts could generate an additional $7,000 annually.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that authorization for a Request for Proposals for catering services at the Plymouth Creek
Center is approved.
