HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2017-204 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-204 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING C ANCELLATION OF THE M UD L AKE/L AKE C AMELOT C OOPERATIVE A GREEMENT AND E XCHANGE OF T RAIL E ASEMENTS BETWEEN T HREE R IVERS P ARK D ISTRICT AND C ITY OF P LYMOUTH WHEREAS, in 2002, Three Rivers Park District (TRPD) and the City entered into a cooperative trail agreement as part of the development of Mud Lake/Lake Camelot Park. Per the agreement, park trails were constructed on both City land (parallel to the north and east shores of the lake) and on TRPD land (parallel to the west shore of the lake); and WHEREAS, the trail on TRPD land was intended to be part of the Medicine Lake Regional Trail which would connect the corridor to CSAH 47. With the extension of Cheshire Parkway, the regional trail corridor was built on the east side of Cheshire Parkway, which means the trails within Mud Lake/Lake Camelot will now serve a local function only; and WHEREAS, with the cancellation of the Mud Lake/Lake Camelot Cooperative Trail Agreement, the City needs a trail easement from TRPD for the existing park trails, as well as a new trail connection on and across TRPD land; and WHEREAS, in exchange for the Lake Camelot trail easement, Three Rivers Park District is requesting a trail easement from the City for a segment of the Luce Line Regional Trail which is located on City land. The segment is located east of Highway 55 and west of Medicine Lake Drive. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the cancellation of the 2002 Mud Lake/Lake Camelot Cooperative Trail Agreement and exchange of trail easements between Three Rivers Park District and the City of Plymouth is approved. APPROVED by the City Council on this 13th day of June, 2017.
