R ESOLUTION A WARDING THE C ONTRACT FOR THE
S CHMIDT L AKE R OAD FROM P EONY L ANE TO F ERNBROOK L ANE M ILL AND O VERLAY
P ROJECT (179002.001) AS A F OUR L ANE R OADWAY
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Schmidt Lake Road from Peony Lane to
Fernbrook Lane Mill and Overlay Project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to State
law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

WHEREAS, it appears that Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation (ASTECH) of St. Cloud, MN,
is the lowest responsible bidder, complying with the minimum qualifications; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the Base Bid and Bid Alternate B to stripe
Schmidt Lake Road as a four lane roadway; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the project to Asphalt Surface Technologies
Corporation (ASTECH) of St. Cloud, MN.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the appropriate City Officials are authorized and directed to enter into a contract with
Asphalt Surface Technologies (ASTECH) of St. Cloud, MN, in the name of the City of Plymouth for the
Schmidt Lake Road from Peony Lane to Fernbrook Lane Mill and Overlay Project according to the plans
and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer,
awarding the Base Bid + Bid Alternate B in the amount of $727,893.75.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the project would be funded from the following sources:
assessments in the amount of $25,970.13, the Street Reconstruction Fund in the amount of
$790,437.68, the Water Resources Fund in the amount of $18,920.00, and the Sewer Fund in the
amount of $1,750.00.
