R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-169
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE E AST M EDICINE L AKE P ARK M ASTER P LAN AND
A UTHORIZING A DVERTISEMENT OF P HASE O NE B IDS (PR170001.171)
WHEREAS, East Medicine Lake Park, located at 1740 East Medicine Lake Boulevard, was
constructed in 1981, and is one of five City Parks in the community; and
WHEREAS, staff hired ISG consultant group to work on the master plan for the park facility; and
WHEREAS, phase one of the project includes the replacement of the shelter structure,
bathrooms and an outdoor shower facility; and
WHEREAS, on January 24, 2017, residents were invited to attend the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Commission meeting to provide additional input on the proposed park plan; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission has reviewed the master plan and
voted unanimously to recommend approval; and
WHEREAS, residential comments and requests were accommodated in the master plan; and
WHEREAS, phase one renovation of East Medicine Lake Park is scheduled in the 2017 Capital
Improvement Program in the amount of $500,000 utilizing Park Replacement Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the East Medicine Lake Park Master Plan (PR170001.171), as presented, is approved
and staff is authorized to advertise for bids.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 25th day of April, 2017.
