R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-164
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING C HANGE O RDER 1 FOR THE P LYMOUTH I CE C ENTER D ASHER
B OARD P ROJECT (IC170001.171)
WHEREAS, in January, City staff solicited quotes for the replacement of Plymouth Ice Center
Dasher boards on the Eric J. Blank rink; and
WHEREAS, staff requested and received quotes for a new dasher board system from three
qualified ice arena vendors (Becker Arena Products, Athletic Sports Systems and Riley Manufacturing);
and
WHEREAS, Staff requested and received quotes from three qualified ice arena vendors; and
Becker Arena Products, Inc. $85,116.70
Athletic Sports Systems $92,880.00
Riley Manufacturing $106,000.00
WHEREAS, the dasher board project was awarded to the low quote from Becker Arena Products,
Inc. in the amount of $85,116.70 utilizing the U.S. Communities contract (USC 022113); and
WHEREAS, Wayzata Youth Hockey Association has requested that the City up-grade the selected
dasher boards to a supportless glass system; and
WHEREAS, Wayzata Youth Hockey Association has agreed to cover the up-grade cost of
$27,307.73 which includes the supportless glass system, additional stock glass and a glass lifter; and
WHEREAS, Change Order 1 for the Plymouth Ice Center Dasher Board Project (IC170001.171) is
recommended for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that Change Order 1, adding $27,307.76 to Plymouth Ice Center Dasher Board Project
(IC170001.171) is approved as follows:
Original Contract amount $85,116.70
Change Order 1 (WYHA Donation) $27,307.76
Revised contract amount $112,424.46
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funding for this project shall be from the Plymouth Ice Center
Fund in the amount of $85,116.70 and a donation from Wayzata Youth Hockey Association in the
amount of $27,307.76.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 25th day of April, 2017.
