HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2017-154 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-154 R ESOLUTION R EJECTING A LL B IDS AND O RDERING THE R E-ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE U TILITY L INE R EPAIR AND R EPLACEMENT WHEREAS, each year emergency repairs are needed to public utility lines; and WHEREAS, specifications have been prepared for the Utility Line Repair and Replacement; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Utility Line Repair and Replacement, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to State law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Contractor Per Hour JP Schmitz Construction $440.00 Valley Rich Co., Inc. $441.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. All bids for the Utility Line Repair and Replacement are rejected. 2. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids. 3. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in Minneapolis Builders Exchange an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications for the Utility Main Line Repair and Replacement and the Utility Service Line Repair and Replacement. The advertisement shall be published twice, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City Clerk until 10:00 a.m. on May 11, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened in the City Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center building at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, Plymouth, Minnesota, by the Engineer and City Clerk, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the council at 7:00 p.m. on May 23, 2017, in the City Council Chambers. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the City Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five percent of the amount of such bid. APPROVED by the City Council on this 25th day of April, 2017.
