HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2017-142 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-142 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING C HANGE IN C OMPENSATION FOR POC F IRE D EPARTMENT M EMBERS WHO P ARTICIPATE IN THE R ADIOLOGICAL E MERGENCY P REPAREDNESS (REP) P ROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has a contract with the State of Minnesota to respond with a team of trained and equipped personnel when activated to radiological emergencies at the Monticello and Prairie Island nuclear power facilities ; and WHEREAS, this contract allows for the compensation of personnel for wages incurred during REP related activities such as drills, training, equipment testing and maintenance, and administrative duties with no impact to the fire department operating budget; and WHEREAS, the change to an increased hourly wage while engaged in REP activities continues to incentivize participation and recognizes the three identified roles and responsibilities of Plymouth personnel on the team. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the change in compensation for Paid-on-Call Fire Department members participating in the Radiological Emergency Preparedness program is approved as follows: TITLE HOURLY RATES REP Field Team Member $40.00 REP Team Captain $42.50 REP Coordinator $45.00 Retroactive to all REP activities since January 1, 2017. APPROVED by the City Council on this 11th day of April, 2017.
