R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-109
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING D ONATION FOR H OSTILE E VENT R ESPONSE B AGS FROM
P LYMOUTH C RIME & F IRE P REVENTION F UND
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Fire Department responds to hostile events such as an active shooter
or other malicious mass casualty incidents; and
WHEREAS, Plymouth will rely on a regional response from other jurisdictions for any possible
event in Plymouth and would reciprocate if needed in another; and
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Fire and Police Departments have agreed to a regional response model
that standardizes training, tactics, resources, equipment and terminology in the event of a hostile event;
and
WHEREAS, standardization of types of bags and the equipment carried in them is critical for
familiarity and interoperability, improving response; and
WHEREAS, the donation from the Plymouth Crime & Fire Prevention Fund will allow the
Plymouth fire department to purchase bags and medical supplies intended specifically for use in hostile
event response and align themselves with our partner cities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the donation of $4,861.21 from the Plymouth Crime & Fire Prevention Fund is
accepted.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 28th day of March, 2017.
