HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2017-108 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-108 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE M ASTER P LAN AND A UTHORIZING D EVELOPMENT OF C ROOKED C REEK N EIGHBORHOOD P ARK (PR130001.171) WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation staff has developed a master plan for Crooked Creek Neighborhood Park at 4255 Walnut Grove Lane North, located on the west side of the City, south of State Highway 55, north of Medina Road and east of Brockton Lane; and WHEREAS, the current park land is 5.54 acres with additional acquisition of land through park dedication to the southwest and south of the current park; and WHEREAS, on January 26, 2017, a neighborhood Open House was utilized to solicit input on the proposed park plan; and WHEREAS, residents of the neighborhood voted on the amenities within the park including hardscape court configuration, shelter, and playground structure; and WHEREAS, residents of the neighborhood were also invited to attend the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission meeting to provide additional input on the proposed park plan; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission has reviewed the master plan and voted unanimously to recommend approval; and WHEREAS, development of this park is scheduled in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for 2017 in the amount of $450,000 utilizing Park Dedication Funds. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the Crooked Creek Park master plan, as presented, is approved and staff is authorized to proceed with the development of the park utilizing Park Dedication Funds in accordance with the $450,000 CIP budget (PR130001.171). APPROVED by the City Council on this 14th day of March, 2017.
