R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-072
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING P URCHASE A GREEMENT FOR
N ORTHWEST G REENWAY P ROPERTY PID: 05-118-22-33-0001
WHEREAS, the City is proposing to acquire property legally described in the attached Exhibit "A"
(“Property”) under the terms of the proposed purchase agreement between Susan Sween, John Raskob
and MaryJo Kvistad (“Sellers”) and the City ("Purchase Agreement"), attached hereto and incorporated
herein as Exhibit "B"; and
WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 462.356, subd. 2 requires that the Planning Commission review the
City's proposed acquisitions and dispositions of property; and
WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 462.356, subd. 2 provides for an exception from the Planning
Commission review requirement upon 2/3 vote of the City Council dispensing with the requirement and
finding that the acquisition or disposal of the property has no relationship to the comprehensive
municipal plan; and
WHEREAS, the City has negotiated a purchase price of $310,000 for said 40 acre Northwest
Greenway property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed said purchase agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the purchase agreement between the City of Plymouth and Susan Sween, John
Raskob and MaryJo Kvistad is approved, and further, that funding will be taken from Park Dedication
Fund, and further, that the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to sign the purchase agreement.
