R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-058
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE 2017-2020 R ESIDENTIAL R ECYCLING
G RANT A GREEMENT WITH H ENNEPIN C OUNTY
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 115A.552, counties shall ensure that
residents have an opportunity to recycle; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County Ordinance 13 requires each city implement and maintain a
recycling program; and
WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Board approved grant funding for curbside recycling and
curbside organics recycling through a Residential Recycling Grant Agreement from 2017 through 2020;
and
WHEREAS, in order to receive grant funds from the County for the Plymouth recycling program,
the City must approve and sign the 2017-2020 Residential Recycling Grant Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council continues to promote and support the recycling program and waste
reduction, education and outreach, and coordination and compliance with County and regional
programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the Residential Recycling Grant Agreement with Hennepin County is hereby approved
and the City Council authorizes and directs the Mayor and City Manager to execute the agreement.
