R ESOLUTION A CCEPTING D ONATION FROM THE W AYZATA
Y OUTH H OCKEY A SSOCIATION FOR THE I CE S YSTEM I MPROVEMENT P ROJECT
AT THE P LYMOUTH I CE C ENTER
WHEREAS, it has been the history of Plymouth Park and Recreation to form partnerships with youth
sports associations to improve parks and facilities within the City of Plymouth; and
WHEREAS, these partnerships provide the opportunity to achieve what may otherwise not
be achieved; and
WHEREAS, the City appreciates and values these relationships, specifically, the great
partnership with Wayzata Youth Hockey Association; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has advertised and received bids for ice system improvement
projects (PRK40042, PRK40043 & PRK40084) at the Plymouth Ice Center and if the ice system improvement
projects are awarded, the Wayzata Youth Hockey Association would like to donate $150,000 to cover the
costs associated with the Eric J. Blank rink conversion (PRK40043); and
WHEREAS, Wayzata Youth Hockey Association is providing the $150,000 donation because the rink
conversion will provide a smaller rink for the younger hockey players, and it will improved the playing
surface and overall ice quality.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the Wayzata Youth Hockey Association (WYHA) donation of $150,000 for the Eric J. Blank
rink conversion (PRK40043) at the Plymouth Ice Center (PIC) is accepted.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 24th day of January, 2017.
