R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-036
R ESOLUTION A WARDING THE C ONTRACT
TO R EPLACE THE B OILERS AT THE Z ACHARY W ATER T REATMENT P LANT (16023)
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids to Replace the Boilers at the Zachary Water
Treatment Plant Project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to State law, and the
following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

Owens Companies $127,470
Pioneer Power $129,480

Schadegg Mechanical $148,500
Engineers Estimate $147,000
WHEREAS, it appears that Northland Mechanical Contractors of New Hope, MN is the lowest
responsible bidder, complying with the minimum qualifications; and
WHEREAS, the bid from Owens Companies shall be rejected due to not submitting a bid bond
with their bid; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the project to Northland Mechanical
Contractors of New Hope, MN.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the appropriate City Officials are authorized and directed to enter into the contract
for the bid with Northland Mechanical Contractors of New Hope, MN in the name of the City of
Plymouth to Replace the Boilers at the Zachary Water Treatment Plant Project according to the plans
and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer in
the amount of $108,500.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funding for this project shall be from the Water Fund in the
amount of $114,000.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 24th day of January, 2017.
