R ESOLUTION N O. 2017-030
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE F IELDHOUSE R EPLACEMENT P ROJECT (PRK40094)
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Fieldhouse first opened its doors in 1999. The facility features an air
supported structure (fabric dome) that encloses an 82,000 square foot artificial turf field; and
WHEREAS, the Fieldhouse facility infrastructure includes an artificial turf field, (replaced
in 2015), a perimeter concrete anchor system designed for a Yeadon air supported structure,
the fabric dome, access doors (e.g. exit doors, handicapped accessible door, a garage door and a
revolving door), metal halide lights and HVAC/inflation system; and
WHEREAS, the Fieldhouse project involves the replacement of several infrastructure
components including the Yeadon air supported structure (dome), a lighting upgrade from metal
halide to a suspended LED system, replacement of the revolving door and the HVAC/inflation
system; and
WHEREAS, all of the above infrastructure components will be purchased utilizing the U.S.
Communities contract (USC 15-JLP-023), an authorized cooperative purchasing program similar to the
state contract. U.S. Communities provides public agencies the ability to make purchases through
existing, competitively solicited contracts between a supplier and a public agency; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost for the Fieldhouse Replacement Project (PRK40094) is
$875,000 and will be financed by the Fieldhouse Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the Fieldhouse Replacement Project (PRK40094) utilizing Fieldhouse Replacement
Funds is hereby approved.
