R ESOLUTION A CCEPTING D ONATIONS FROM A RMSTRONG-C OOPER
Y OUTH H OCKEY A SSOCIATION AND P LYMOUTH C RIME AND F IRE P REVENTION
F UND FOR P URCHASE OF D ETERRA D RUG D EACTIVATION P ACKETS
WHEREAS, the abuse of and addiction to opioids such as heroin, morphine, and prescription
pain relievers is a serious problem that affects the health, social, and economic welfare of every
community. The consequences of this abuse have been devastating and are on the rise; and
WHEREAS, Deterra Drug Deactivation pouches are a new technology that allows for families to
effectively, safely, and quickly neutralize drugs in an omni-degradable package that works for pills,
liquids and patches; and
WHEREAS, the Armstrong-Cooper Youth Hockey Association and the Plymouth Crime and Fire
Prevention Fund has donated $3,000 and $2,133 respectively to purchase Deterra packets for use by the
Public Safety Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the donations from the Armstrong-Cooper Youth Hockey Association and Plymouth
Crime and Fire Prevention Fund for the purchase of Deterra packets from the Plymouth Crime and Fire
Prevention Fund are hereby accepted.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 25th day of October, 2016.
