R ESOLUTION A PPROVING A G RANT A GREEMENT WITH THE
M INNESOTA D EPARTMENT OF P UBLIC S AFETY
FOR THE PROJECT T OWARDS Z ERO D EATHS E NFORCEMENT G RANT
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, has established
the Towards Zero Deaths Grant, which enables police departments the opportunity to focus on traffic
violations in a collaborative manner; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is collaborating with the cities of Maple Grove and Minnetonka
to enforce moving violations, unsafe driving practices, unbelted motorists, and target impaired/
distracted drivers; and
WHEREAS, the grant request of $115,550 was approved and awarded to the City of Plymouth by
the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the Mayor, City Manager, and Police Department are authorized to enter into an
agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety for the project
named Towards Zero Deaths during the period from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017 is
approved.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 11th day of October, 2016.
