R ESOLUTION A UTHORIZING THE A PPLICATION AND E XECUTION OF THE J AMES M ETZEN
M IGHTY D UCKS G RANT FOR THE P LYMOUTH I CE C ENTER R-22 R EFRIGERANT
C ONVERSION TO AN A MMONIA S YSTEM
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC), via the State General Fund,
provides for general funds to assist political subdivisions of the State of Minnesota for the fulfillment of
the purpose and goals of the James Metzen Mighty Ducks Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires to complete its project named “R-22 Refrigerant
Conversion to an Ammonia System” at the Plymouth Ice Center located at 3650 Plymouth Boulevard,
Plymouth, Minnesota 55447.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, THAT APPLICATION AND EXECUTION OF THE JAMES METZEN MIGHTY DUCKS GRANT FOR
THE PLYMOUTH ICE CENTER R-22 REFRIGERANT CONVERSION TO AN AMMONIA SYSTEM IS APPROVED
WITH THE FOLLOWING:
1) That the total cost of completing the conversion project shall be $1,455,800 and the City of
Plymouth is requesting $100,000 from the James Metzen Mighty Ducks Grant Program and
will assume responsibility for a matching contribution of $1,355,800.
2) The City of Plymouth agrees to own, assume 100 percent operational costs for the facility or
equipment, and will operate the facility or equipment for its intended purpose for the
functional life of the facility or equipment which is estimated to be 50 years.
3) The City of Plymouth agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with the
MASC for the specific purpose of completing the project.
4) That a request for reimbursement be made to the MASC for the amount awarded after the
completion of the project.
5) That Diane Evans of the City of Plymouth is authorized and directed to execute said
application and serve as the official liaison with the MASC.
