ESOLUTION PPROVING URCHASE OF WO ANDEM UMP RUCKS

ITH NOWCE ONTROL ELATED QUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the 2016 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and Central Equipment budget includes
the purchase of two new tandem axle dump trucks with related equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City may make purchases off State contracts; and
WHEREAS, Nuss Truck Group, dba Twin City Mack, has a contract with the State for this truck
chassis meeting the City’s specifications, Contract No. 77950; and
WHEREAS, Tow Master Inc. has a contract with the State for snow plow truck
components and accessories meeting the City’s specifications, Contract No. 100790; and
WHEREAS, the Street Maintenance Budget has approval of $30,000 to upgrade a single
axle truck to a tandem axle truck with snow/ice control equipment,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the purchase two current model Tandem Axle Truck Chassis from Nuss Truck
Group, dba Twin City Mack, and the related equipment to complete the truck with hauling and snow
plowing/ice control equipment from Towmaster Inc. is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the amount due to Nuss after trade is $175,348. Sales tax due to
the State at registration for the chassis is $11,397.62. Due to Towmaster Inc. is $232,534 for both
(no sales tax is due to Tow Master Inc.) for a total expenditure of $419,279.62 to purchase two
completed trucks.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, the funding will be from:
Central Equipment 600-70-760-76001-8100.500 $389,279.62
Street Maintenance 100-70-710-71000-8100.500 $ 30,000.00
