HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2010-224CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2010-224 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE SHINGLE CREEK WATERSHED MANAGEMENT COMMISSION TO EXCEED THE ADMINISTRATIVE BUDGET CAP WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is a member of the Shingle Creek Watershed Management Commission, a Minnesota joint powers organization, organized pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59 and Section 10313.211 (the "Commission"); and WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Agreement establishing the Commission provides that the Commission's administrative budget may not exceed a cap, which, for calendar year 2011, is in the amount of $311,400 without the consent of a majority of the city members; and WHEREAS, the Commission has requested the approval by the member cities of an administrative budget exceeding the cap by the amount of $42,000, for a total assessment of $353,400; and WHEREAS, the portion appropriated to the City of Plymouth for the Commission's administrative budget for 2011 will be $53,163, an increase of $6,328 above the administrative budget cap; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is reasonable, appropriate, and in the best interest of the public to approve the proposed levy of $353,400 for the 2011 administrative budget as requested by the Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: The City Council approves the administrative budget of the Shingle Creek Watershed Management Commission for calendar year 2011 in the amount of $353,400. 2. The City Clerk is directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the recording secretary of the Commission. APPROVED THIS 24TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2010.
