HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1971-409W VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH[ RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 21st day of October, 1971. The following members were present: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Johnson, Hintz, Spaeth and Hunt. The following members were absent: None. Councilman Spaeth introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 71-409, WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of the following Project No. 71-1,2,0,8-A Part 3 West Medicine Lake Street Improvement bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement. Astleford 289,362.50 279,922.50 Bury S Carlson, Inc. 295,741.00 262,364.00 and, WHEREAS, a negotiated cost of S245,095.00 was arrived at with the lowest bidder, Jerome Begin Construction, 12615 Rockford Road, to combine a gravel base for all streets except 28th Avenue and Evergreen Lane which will be improved with a deep strength asphalt base for said project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH: 1. The Mayor and Village Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Jerome Begin Construction Company of 12615 Rockford Road, in the name of the Village of Plymouth for Project No, 71-102,0,8-A Part 3 West 1-%dicine Lake Street Improvement according to the negotiated plans and specifications therefor approved by the Village Council and on file in the office of the Village Engineer for $245,095.00. 2. The Village Engineer " herebyauthorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that"the deposits of the succ- essful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be re- tained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Hintz and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hlde, Councilmen Johnson, Hintz, Spaeth and Hunt. No one vote) against or abstained. Whereupon the resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
