RESOLUTION No. 2010-173
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF
CENTRAL COUNT ELECTION EQUIPMENT FOR THE
TABULATION OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS
WHEREAS, legislation enacted during the 2010 legislative session requires that absentee
ballots be tabulated at a central location and not disseminated to individual precincts; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County has leased for use at the Primary and General Elections
two central count Model 650 Ballot -counters from Election Systems and Software. The Model
650 has been certified for use by both the federal government and the Minnesota Secretary of
State; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 206.58 requires the governing body of a municipality to
provide for the use of electronic voting systems within their jurisdictions subject to approval by
the county auditor; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA hereby authorizes the use of the Model 650 Ballot -
counters for the tabulation of absentee ballots.
