HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2010-144CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2010-144 A RESOLUTION APPROVING INFLATIONARY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE PLYMOUTH CITY CHARTER WHEREAS, the Plymouth City Charter includes references to several specific dollar amounts; and WHEREAS, Section 12.14 of the Charter specifies that the amounts are to be adjusted by a qualified person selected by the City Council in each year ending in zero; and; WHEREAS, the Plymouth City Charter requires the specific dollar amounts be adjusted upward and downward in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Minneapolis/St. Paul area; and WHEREAS, the City Council selects Finance Manager Jodi Bursheim as the qualified person to calculate inflation per the City Charter; and WHEREAS, Finance Manager Jodi Bursheim has determined the CPI for the local area has increased by 23% since the last inflationary adjustment effective since the year 2000; and WHEREAS, the finance manager recommends that the dollar amounts in Sections 4.05, 5.02 and 7.09 of the city charter be adjusted from $63 to $78; and WHEREAS, the finance manager recommends that the dollar amount in Section 7.14 should be adjusted from $3,782,991 to $4,653,079. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the Plymouth City Charter be adjusted to reflect inflation as calculated by the finance manager per the Charter. Approved this 25th day of May 2010.
