RESOLUTION No. 2010-104
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE
RIPARIAN RESTORATION AND STREAMBANK STABILIZATION GRANT WITH
HENNEPIN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
PLYMOUTH CREEK STREAMBANK RESTORATION PROJECT
CITY PROJECT NO. 8128
WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners approved funding in the
amount of $155,000 at their March 23, 2010 Board Meeting for the design and constriction
of the Plymouth Creek Streambank Restoration Project; and
WHEREAS, a Grant Agreement has been prepared by the Hennepin County
Department of Environmental Services in reference to the Plymouth Creek Streambank
Restoration Project; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvement includes the restoration of severely eroded
streambank and realignment of approximately 1,500 feet of Plymouth Creek to reduce the
flood potential to adjacent properties, prior to the creek's discharge into Medicine Lake; and
WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Department of Environmental Services will
reimburse the City for design and constriction costs, up to $155,000 per the terms of the
agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA:
1. The Council hereby approves the Grant Agreement as presented; and
2. Authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute the agreement on behalf of
the City.
