HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2010-076CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2010-076 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID FOR THE 2010 STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT CITY PROJECT NO. 10001 WHEREAS, pursuant to resolutions passed by the Council on January 26, 2010 and March 9, 2010, the Engineering Division has prepared plans and specifications for the improvement of the East Parkers Lake area including 17th and 18th Avenue from Fernbrook Lane to, and including Ithaca Lane, and the adjacent cul-de-sac, and the streets south of County Road 6 and north of the Luce Line Trail, from, and including Kingsview Lane, to, and including Fernbrook Lane, and the adjacent cul- de-sacs, but excluding Kingsview Lane, north of Juneau Lane and The Parkers Lake Corporate Center area including 23rd Avenue and 251h Avenue, west of Niagara Lane, to and including Polaris Lane by reconstruction of streets with the installation of bituminous pavement, concrete curb and gutter installation and repair, storm sewer installation and repair, watermain replacement, and all necessary appurtenances and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. Such plans and specifications, copies of which are on file in the City Engineer's office and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in The Constriction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published three times, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City Clerk until 10:00 a.m. on April 20, 2010 at which time they will be publicly opened in the City Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center building at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, Plymouth, Minnesota, by the engineer and City Clerk, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the council at 7 p.m. on May 11, 2010, in the council chambers. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five percent of the amount of such bid.
