HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2000-641CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2000-641 RECOMMENDING ACTIONS BY THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH IN RESPONSE TO A STUDY OF THE ELMHURST AND ELMHURST GATEWAY NEIGHBORHOODS (20184) WHEREAS, the Plymouth City Council has initiated a study of the Elmhurst and Elmhurst Gateway neighborhoods on the west side of Medicine Lake; and WHEREAS, the Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority and the City Council have reviewed said study. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does recommend that the Council accept the November 8, 2000 staff report on the Elmhurst and Elmhurst Gateway neighborhoods and direct staff to undertake the following actions for these neighborhoods: 1. Initiate a reguiding of the Penwalk Addition from P -I to LA -1. 2. Initiate a rezoning of the Elmhurst and Elmhurst Gateway neighborhoods from RSF-2 to RSF-3. As part of this task, investigate 1) the impact of the smaller lot sizes as they relate to current shoreland regulations and 2) potential changes in the shoreland regulations that would achieve both the City's water quality goals and goals for maintaining the City's neighborhoods. Design a comprehensive public process in conjunction with neighborhood -wide code enforcement in the Elmhurst and Elmhurst Gateway neighborhoods. Adopted by the City Council on December 19, 2000.
