HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2000-606CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2000-606 APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE PERSONNEL POLICY WHEREAS, City staff periodically reviews Personnel Policy and recommends changes to update the policy and better align it with the needs of employees, with the benefits provided bargaining unit members and the external employment market; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that the annual leave and funeral leave policies be amended for regular City employees not represented by a bargaining unit; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has further recommended that a new extended illness accrual be provided and that those with large sick leave banks under a previous policy be allowed to convert some of that leave to annual leave upon retirement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has further recommended that employees be allowed to buy or sell up to 24 hours of annual leave annually, and WHEREAS, other minor clerical and ordering changes are required; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, that it should and hereby does approve amendments to the Personnel Policy in Article 3 thereof, providing for the changes reflected in the attached revised Article 3 and any clerical or ordering changes necessary for publication, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above amendment will be effective on December 23, 2000. Adopted by the City Council on December 19, 2000.
