HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2000-569CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2000-569 STREET LIGHTING POLICY WHEREAS, the City has a long standing policy that benefiting properties pay for the cost for the installation and operation of street lights as part of their city utility bill; and WHEREAS, also as part of this policy, street lights are installed and paid for by the City on major streets; and WHEREAS, there has not been a definition of what constitutes a major street; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. That when street lights are installed at intersections of streets contained within the City's Comprehensive Plan designated as Thoroughfare Guide Plan streets, the cost for the installation and operation of these lights will be paid for by the City. 2. The installation of other street lights will be installed after receipt of petitions and if necessary, a public improvement hearing; and if the installation of the street light is approved, the cost for installation and operation will be billed along with the City's utility bill to the benefiting properties.
