HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2000-556CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2000-556 RESOLUTION APPROVING ACCEPTANCE OF STATE SOCCER GRANT WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC) and the Department of Children, Families & Learning (CFL), via the State General Fund, provides grant funds to assist local government units of the state of Minnesota for the development and renovation of athletic facilities and soccer fields, and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires to contract and develop Greenwood Youth Sports Facilities for the sports of soccer and baseball, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL 1) that the estimated total cost of developing/renovating said facility shall be $500,000 and Plymouth is requesting $100,000 from the MASC/CFL Youth Enrichment Grant Program and will assume responsibility for the match requirement of $400,000 2) that Plymouth agrees to own and assume 100 percent operational costs for said sport facility, and will operate said facility for its intended purpose for the functional life of the facility which is estimated to be 20 years. 3) that Plymouth agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with the MASC/CFL for the specific purpose of construction/renovating a sport facility and long-term program direction 4) that Eric Blank and Plymouth Park and Recreation is authorized and directed to execute said application and serve as the official liaison with the MASC/CFL. CERTIFICATION I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution is a true and correct copy of the resolution presented to and adopted by the Plymouth City Council at a duly authorized meeting thereof held on the November 14, 2000, as shown by the minutes of said meeting in my possession.
