HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2000-499CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2000-499 AUTHORIZE THE INSTALLATION OF "NO PARKING" SIGNS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF 34TH AVENUE ON EACH SIDE OF CITY CENTER DRIVEWAY WHEREAS, public safety has requested "No Parking" on 34th Avenue at the City Center driveway to provide adequate sight distance for police vehicles exiting the driveway for emergency pruposes; and WHEREAS, this problem is particularly bad on weekdays when City employees and post office customers park their vehicles on this roadway; and WHEREAS, calculations and field measurements have been completed showing that the installation of "No Parking" signs on the north side of 34th Avenue, located approximately 70 feet easterly and 50 feet westerly of the City Center driveway, would provide the necessary stopping sight distance such that vehicles traveling on 34th Avenue would have adequate distance to stop once they see an emergency vehicle exiting the driveway; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the director of Public Works is hereby authorized to install "No Parking" signs on the north side of 34th Avenue, approximately 70 feet easterly and 50 feet westerly of the edge of the City Center driveway. Adopted by the City Council on October 10, 2000. STATE OF MINNESOTA) COUNTY OF HENNEPIN) SS.
