HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2010-019CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2010-019 A RESOLUTION TO RECEIVE THE PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING REPORT AND CALL FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE 2010 STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, EAST PARKERS LAKE AND PARKERS LAKE CORPORATE CENTER AREA CITY PROJECT NO. 10001 WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the council adopted November 10, 2010, a report has been prepared by Engineering staff with reference to proposed improvement No. 10001, the improvement of the streets in the East Parkers Lake Area including 17th and 18th Avenue from Fernbrook Lane to, and including Ithaca Lane, and the adjacent cul-de-sac, and the streets south of County Road 6 and north of the Luce Line Trail, from, and including Kingsview Lane, to, and including Fernbrook Lane, and the adjacent cul-de-sacs, excluding Kingsview Lane, north of Juneau Lane, 11th Avenue and 13th Place by reconstruction of streets with the installation of bituminous pavement, concrete curb and gutter installation and repair, storm sewer installation and repair, watermain replacement, and all necessary appurtenances and the improvement of 11th Avenue and 13th Place by mill and overlay of the top layer of bituminous pavement, concrete curb repair, sanitary and storm sewer repair, and all necessary appurtances and the improvement of the streets in the Parkers Lake Corporate Center area including 23rd Avenue and 25th Avenue, west of Niagara Lane, to and including Polaris Lane by reconstruction of streets with the installation of bituminous pavement, concrete curb and gutter repair, storm sewer installation and repair, watermain improvements, and all necessary appurtenances; and this report was received by the Council on January 12, 2010, and WHEREAS, the report provides information regarding whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost effective, and feasible; whether it should be best made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement; the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended; and a description of the methodology used to calculate individual assessments for affected parcels. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The Council will consider the improvement of such streets in accordance with the report and the assessment of abutting properties for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429 at an estimated total cost of the improvement of $5,526,000. 2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvement of the East Parkers Lake area on the 26th day of January 2010 in the Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard at 7:00 p.m., and the Clerk shall give mailed notice of such hearing and improvements as required by law. 3. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvement of the Parkers Lake Corporate Center area on the 9th day of February 2010 in the Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard at 7:00 p.m., and the Clerk shall give mailed notice of such hearing and improvements as required by law.
