RESOLUTION NO. 2000-470
AUTHORIZING FOR "NO PARKING" 23" AVENUE FROM
WEST MEDICINE LAKE DRIVE TO HEMLOCK
WHEREAS, residents in the area of 23rd Avenue from West Medicine Lake Drive to hemlock
Lane have signed a petition requesting "no parking" due to the narrow road and gradient of
23rd Avenue causing site distance problems when cars are parked in this area; and
WHEREAS, this problem is particularly bad on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays when there
is increased use of the City's West Medicine Lake Park purportedly causing park users to
park on 23rd Avenue; and
WHEREAS, there are no sidewalks on 23rd Avenue which adds to the safety concerns for
children and pedestrians walking in this area when cars are parked along 23rd Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That 23rd Avenue from West Medicine Lake Drive
to Hemlock Lane be designated as a "no parking" zone as follows:
North side: Entire distance
South side: From West Medicine Lake Drive westerly for 50 feet
FURTHER, that Resolution No. 2000-417 adopted on August 22, 2000 is rescinded.
Adopted by the City Council on September 26, 2000.
