RESOLUTION NO. 2000-378
RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION FOR MINNESOTA
AMATEUR SPORTS COMMISSION (MASC) GRANT
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission, via the State fund, provides for
capital funds to assist political subdivisions of the State of Minnesota for the development of
sports facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires to construct and develop multi-purpose soccer
and baseball fields for the sports of boys and girls soccer and baseball, and other athletic/social
activities; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE PLYMOUTH
CITY COUNCIL as follows:
1. It is estimated that the total cost of developing said facilities shall be $400,000 and the
City of Plymouth is requesting $100,000 from the MASC General Fund and will assume
responsibility for a match requirement of $400,000.
2. The City of Plymouth agrees to lease from the Wayzata School District and assumes
100% operation costs for said sport facility and will operate said facility for its intended
purpose for the functional life of the facility, which is estimated to be 50 plus years.
3. The Plymouth City Council agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with
the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission for the specific purpose of constructing a
sport facility and long term program direction.
4. That an application be made to the State of Minnesota, Minnesota Amateur Sports
Commission.
5. That the Mayor and City Manager of the City of Plymouth are authorized and directed to
execute said application, and the City Manager shall serve as the official liaison with the
Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission.
