HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2000-362CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2000-362 APPROVAL OF FEDERAL FUNDING APPLICATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND ASSURANCES FOR NEW TRANSIT VEHICLES, DESIGNATING AUTHORITY, APPROVING THE ORDERING AND ACQUISITION OF NEW TRANSIT VEHICLES WHEREAS, the Plymouth City Council has authorized applications for funding to procure new transit vehicles; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has approved the applications and determined that funding for the new transit vehicles be designated as 2001 federal STP and CMAQ funds; and WHEREAS, an application to the Federal Transit Administration is necessary to obtain the said federal funds and the City Council desires to apply for said funds; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need to order transit vehicles in a timely manner to meet vehicle replacement schedules and new transit service requirements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City of Plymouth enter into an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the distribution of Federal Transit Administration 5307 funds for the replacement of transit vehicles and the enhancement of the Plymouth Metrolink transit vehicle fleet. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City of Plymouth agrees to provide not less than 20 percent of the total capital cost of the project from local funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to execute the aforementioned Agreement and any amendments thereto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Director of Public Works is authorized to execute requests for reimbursement to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Director of Public Works or his designee is authorized to represent the City of Plymouth during the contract period. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council authorizes the City Manager and City Attorney to execute the Federal Fiscal Year 2000 FTA Certifications and Assurances as part of the federal funding application process.
