RESOLUTION NO. 2000-323
APPROVAL OF INCREASED BUDGET CARRYOVER
FUND SPENDING AUTHORITY FOR PARK & RIDE PROJECTS
AT MESSIAH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND PLYMOUTH
COVENANT CHURCH
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has authority in accordance with Minnesota Statutes
Section 473.405 to operate public transit systems in the metropolitan area and to exercise all
powers necessary or convenient to discharge its duties; and
WHEREAS, Plymouth Metrolink on behalf of the City of Plymouth is operating
replacement public transit service pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 473.388; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has determined that it is desirable to provide transit
capital grants to Plymouth Metrolink for the purpose of paying park and ride lot construction
costs at Messiah United Methodist Church and Plymouth Covenant Church; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved Plymouth Metrolink Budget Carryover Funds to
supplement the Metropolitan Council Transit Capital Grants; and
WHEREAS, additional Budget Carryover Fund spending authority is required to complete
the park and ride lot projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City Manager is authorized to increase
the Plymouth Metrolink Budget Carryover Fund spending authority for completion of the
park and ride lots at Messiah United Methodist Church (City project # 8006) and Plymouth
Covenant Church (City project # 8036) by $10,000.00 each, or a total of $20,000.00.
