RESOLUTION NO. 2000-272
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A PEDESTRIAN AND
CROSSWALK SAFETY PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH
AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDING
THROUGH THE MINNESOTA SAFETY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, a need has been identified to educate pedestrians and drivers about
Minnesota's crosswalk law to gain compliance with it; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has given this need a high priority for this year; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Safety Council has notified cities of grant funding available
for these types of programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, the City Council adopt the resolution endorsing a program to
address pedestrian and crosswalk safety within the City of Plymouth through a public
information campaign, traffic enforcement, and positive reinforcement; and authorizing staff to
make application for grant funding for this project through the Minnesota Safety Council.
