HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2000-048CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2000-048 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA FOR CANADA GOOSE POPULATION MANAGEMENT WHEREAS, there is a problem with overpopulation of Canadian geese in the Twin Cities metropolitan area; and WHEREAS, as Canadian geese are federally regulated for population management; and WHEREAS, the University of Minnesota, Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, has a program in place and much research for conducting population management; and WHEREAS, as part of this program, municipalities can contract with the University of Minnesota for humane trapping and removal of groups of Canadian geese; and and WHEREAS, this agreement covers the period March 15, 1999 through March 15, 2001; WHEREAS, the City Council agrees this is a beneficial program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, the City Council authorizes the Public Safety Director to enter into a contract with the University of Minnesota, Department of Fisheries and Wildlife for the purpose of Canada Goose Population Management. Adopted by the City Council on January 18, 2000.
