RESOLUTION No. 2011-341
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION AND EXECUTION OF THE
HENNEPIN COUNTY YOUTH SPORTS GRANT FOR
PLYMOUTH CREEK CENTER FIELDHOUSE SYNTHETIC TURF REPLACEMENT
WHEREAS, Hennepin County, via the Hennepin Youth Sports Program, provides for
capital fiends to assist local government units of Hennepin County for the development of sport
or recreation facilities, and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires to develop Plymouth Creek Center Fieldhouse
Synthetic Turf Replacement for the purpose of benefiting youth athletics.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA:
L The estimate of the total cost of developing Plymouth Creek Center Fieldhouse
Synthetic Turf Replacement shall be $500,000, and the City of Plymouth is
requesting $250,000 from the Hennepin Youth Sports Program and will assume
responsibility for a match requirement of $250,000.
IL The City of Plymouth agrees to own, assume one hundred (100) percent of
operation costs for the Plymouth Creek Center Fieldhouse, and will operate
Plymouth Creek Center Fieldhouse for its intended purpose for the fiinctional life
of the facility, which is estimated to be 12 years.
III. The City agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with Hennepin
County for the specific purpose of constricting a sport or recreational facility and
long-term program direction.
IV. That the Mayor and/or the City of Plymouth is authorized and directed to execute
said application and serve as official liaison with Hennepin County or its
authorized representatives.
